Some kids use flash cards to memorize their vocabulary words, but a group of 5th graders in Logan commits big words to memory by making movies about them.
The principle goal behind Ellis Elementary School's theatre club is to define difficult words in a spirited way.
"I think bringing fun into learning definitely helps, but I think bringing something you are passionate about is even better," said 4th grade teacher Greg Cox.
The students offer whatever skills they have and enthusiasm; however, they don't get graded for their work and it's all done after school.
Cox enters the videos in competitions on websites that promote learning and education, and so far they've won enough money to keep their club funded.
"We definitely are lucky that Mr. Cox takes his time after school to teach us how to film and edit," said 5th Grader Josie Orton.
