UINTAH COUNTY, Utah — Utah conservation officers are investigating after snow geese were found poached in the Book Cliffs area of Uintah County.
Officers said they received a tip about five dead snow geese near the junction of Seep Ridge Road and Kings Well Road. They said the geese appeared to have been shot and dumped at the location.
Conservation Officer Bryan Clyde with the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources said it’s unusual for snow geese to be in the Book Cliffs area.
“Geese in the Book Cliffs are out of place, but having five snow geese show up is even further from the norm,” he said.
