CANE BEDS, Ariz. — Four people, including an infant, were seriously burned in a fire at a mobile home on the Arizona Strip.
The Mohave County Sheriff’s Office said deputies and the Colorado City Fire Dept. responded early Saturday morning to a mobile home at 2600 S. 1800 E. in Cane Beds, which is just outside Hildale/Colorado City on the Utah-Arizona border.
“Upon arrival, firefighters observed four burn victims in the front yard,” the sheriff’s office said in a statement to FOX 13 on Sunday.
All four of the victims were flown by medical helicopter to area hospitals. An 8-month-old baby was flown to Primary Children’s Medical Center. The baby’s father and a 15-year-old girl were also flown to Salt Lake City hospitals.
The infant’s mother was flown to a hospital in Las Vegas, the sheriff’s office said.
“Investigators thus far have determined the valve on the propane gas line was leaking behind the stove,” the sheriff’s office said. “At this time, the ignition source is unknown.”
