SALT LAKE INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT -- Eight members of the Utah Army National Guard headed to Afghanistan Tuesday for a year-long deployment.
These soldiers are not going on a combat mission. They are members of the 128th Mobile Public Affairs Department.
They’re mission is to document and tell the stories of individual soldiers as well as entire units. The stories will be for publication in various military and civilian media.
