SALT LAKE CITY -- An electrical fire at an apartment complex forced several people out of their homes Thursday morning.
The fire started in an apartment building at 300 East and 53 South.
When fire crews arrived, they learned the flames an smoke were coming from two apartments on the top floor of the four-story building. They quickly evacuated tenants and began to extinguish the blaze.
Most of the fire and smoke damage was contained to two apartments, while several others were left with some water damage.
Investigators determined the fire was caused by an electrical malfunction, but the precise origin is still unknown.
No one was injured in the fire.
