Students at Alta High School presented their ideas for mobile apps Tuesday in a competition for scholarships.
According to a statement from IPOP Foundation, who organized the event, scholarships were awarded to these teams:
1st Place: Verve by Bryan Luu, Zach Gundry and Matt Blake – A competition app that allows users to post a video of a skill or activity and challenge others to beat them by posting their own videos to prove it.
2nd Place: Airwave by Rocky Evans and Bridger Pennington – An app that connects smart phones to share screens and cameras so they can watch video or listen to music simultaneously with their friends. (Airwave also won audience favorite.)
3rd Place: Stick Talk by Nathan Hood – Rather than sending a simple text message, users can send a recording of their voice along with a stick figure avatar that will speak their message.
A total of $10,000 in scholarships was awarded.
