Photography students give back to the community

Posted

OREM, Utah – A group of photography students at a Utah college decided to lend their talents and help families in need.

Family portraits can be expensive, but students at Utah Valley University provided free portraits for families who couldn’t otherwise afford it.

The students said they were happy to take part.

“You know, especially during finals week, you know we're focused on just grades and exams and stuff like this, it's cool here to just come in and turn our brains off and just focus on somebody else and giving back to somebody else,” Student Johnny Call said.

The students chose to provide the photos as their final class project. They said they wanted to choose a project that allowed them to give back to their community.
