Parents opt their children out of new standardized testing

UTAH COUNTY -- Tens of thousands of Utah students are taking the new standardized tests called SAGE this month.

But there are hundreds who won’t because their parents don’t want them to. More than 400 students in the Alpine School District has been opted out of the standardized testing.

Some parents believe that type of testing puts too many restrictions on teaching methods in the classroom.
