SUMMIT COUNTY, Utah -- Officials responded to a home in Oakley where a woman died of a gunshot wound to the chest Friday evening.
Officials stated the incident was in the area near 3645 E. Weber Canyon Road, and police initially dispatched a SWAT team out of concern there might be an active shooter.
Police said a neighbor heard screams and found the woman around 5:30 p.m. on the porch. The neighbor called 911 and performed CPR.
Police officials said the victim is a woman in her 30s or 40s but did not provide further details. She died after sustaining a single gunshot wound in the chest.
Police later said they do not believe there is an active shooter, and they said they are questioning two people who were at the home when it happened. The two are the woman's boyfriend and a friend, and police said the two are not suspects and are cooperating with investigators.
Sgt. Ron Bridge, Summit County Sheriff's Office, said they are working to determine how the woman came to be shot. He said they had located and are questioning all individuals who were in the area when the incident occurred.
