Work beginning on large I-15 project

Posted

DAVIS COUNTY, Utah – A massive construction project is beginning on I-15 in Davis County this weekend as Utah Department of Transportation officials are working to widen the freeway on a 12-mile stretch of road.

The work is being done on an area between North Salt Lake and Farmington, and along that route four bridges will be replaced, including those at 2600 South and 500 South—which will be made into continuous flow interchanges.

The project is the largest of the many underway by UDOT crews, and it is estimated it will take 18 months to complete the work. Crews will work at night where possible, but drivers can still expect delays.

Transportation officials said the project will reduce congestion for commuters in the area once the work is done.
