SALT LAKE CITY – Utah politicians were at the Utah Food Bank Friday as part of an effort to provide food to those in need.
The Utah Republican Party collected food and clothing items during their state convention on April 26, and on Friday the items were donated to the Utah Food Bank and the Road Home.
Utah Attorney General Sean Reyes was among those who participated in the effort.
“I think Republicans get sort of a bad rap for not caring, and I wanted to show that, and others in the party wanted to demonstrate that we really do care, and that service, helping our neighbors is in our DNA,” he said.
Reyes said they are challenging Sim Gill and the District Attorney’s Office to top the amount of pounds food and clothing donated Friday.
