BOUNTIFUL, Utah – Main Street in Bountiful is bedecked with a colorful coating as part of the annual chalk festival.
The chalk festival began in 2006 and has grown each year, and this year’s artistic offerings will be on display Saturday and Sunday.
Jane Joy is the director of the festival, and she said it helps connect children with art.
"I spent many years with troubled youth and learned through teaching them art, how their self-esteem started rising as they got better and better at doing something," she said.
The event is free to the public.
