VERNAL, Utah – Police have arrested a man in connection with a murder that occurred in July of 2013 in Vernal.
Christopher Codi Andersen, 23, was arrested this week and officers allege he is responsible for the death of 53-year-old Christopher Miller, who was found dead in an apartment at 1350 W. 100 North on July 6 of last year.
Officers said at the time of Miller’s death that it appeared there were signs of a fight. Officials with Vernal City stated in a press release Wednesday Miller died of strangulation and blunt force trauma.
Officials stated forensic evidence that required additional examination and testing was completed last week and that when the investigation concluded they obtained a warrant and arrested Andersen, who was taken into custody Tuesday.
Police said they have been monitoring Andersen since the murder, and the man is currently being held on a no-bail warrant in the Uintah County Jail. Andersen was incarcerated on unrelated charges during a portion of the time between the alleged murder and his arrest Tuesday.
