Many Utahns will take to the roadways for Memorial Day Weekend, and on Friday Rich Woodruff of the American Red Cross in Utah came to the FOX 13 News Studio to discuss tips for traveling safe.

- Flashlight (changing a tire in the dark)
- Extra cell phone battery or hand crank charger
- First aid kit
- Family and Emergency Contact information Card
- Extra prescription/ meds
- Multi-purpose tool
- Duct Tape (radiator hose blows)
- Extra cash
- Whistle
- Empty gas can
- Portable radio
- Pet or infant supplies (if needed)
- Jumper Cables
- Rain Poncho (changing a tire in the rain)
- Water (1 gallon per person in one day’s worth) and some high protein snack bar
- Extra windshield washer fluid
- Extra car door key (magnetic box under wheel well)
