MILLCREEK, Utah – Power was out briefly in a Millcreek neighborhood Friday after a truck crashed into a power pole and sent power lines to the ground.
The incident occurred near 2300 East and 3000 South around 4 p.m., and police said the driver of the truck told them he had fallen asleep at the wheel.
The collision knocked the pole over and sent high voltage power lines to the ground.
“We’ve had some of the lines that broke into the trees, we’ve had a tree almost start on fire, we’ve had lines arcing on the ground,” said Lt. Manfred Lassig of the Unified Police Department.
There were no injuries reported, and power was restored Friday evening.
