Animal Place, a California organization dedicated to farm animal rescue, sanctuary, education and adoption, shared one of the most heart-warming stories we've seen so far this year.
A 10-year-old goat named Mr. G and his best friend, a burro named Jellybean, lived together on private property belonging to "a woman who could barely care for herself, let alone the dozens of dogs she hoarded and three barnyard animals," according to a posting on the Animal Place website.
Mr. G and Jellybean were both rescued, but taken to different sanctuaries, the posting said, and only then did it become apparent how deeply they had bonded.
Animal Rescue took in Mr. G, but the goat stayed in the corner of his stall and refused to eat, the posting said.
