SALT LAKE CITY – Summer weather has arrived, and Sunday was opening day for the Wheeler Farm’s Farmers Market.
Vendors and patrons marked the event with activities like a pancake breakfast, yoga and live music.
The offerings at the market featured fresh greens, early season crops, artisan foods as well as arts and crafts. Activities included pony rides, a petting zoo and a rock climbing wall.
Patron Phil Green said it was a good time.
“We just love the eclectic blend of people and different stuff they bring to the market,” he said.
Tyler Montague with Keep It Real Vegetables said the market has excellent offerings.
“The quality of food that you get with the farmers market is way better than you’re going to get at the store, plus just the experience of shopping at farmers market is just fun,” he said. “It’s nice to come out on a nice day and get your food.”
The Wheeler Farm hosts the Farmers Market every Sunday until October 26. The market is organized by the Wasatch Front Farmers Market. Click here to visit the Wheeler Farm website and click here to visit the Wasatch Front Farmers Market’s website.
