SALT LAKE CITY – The Humane Society of Utah held their annual gala event Saturday at The Garden Place at This is the Place Heritage Park, and the Wags to Wishes event raises funds for the group's animal advocacy efforts.

FOX 13 News’ Dan Evans and Kerri Cronk were at the event, which is in its second year.

Jamie Usry said they raise funds for a variety of causes.

"Everything raised tonight, every single dollar, because the event was paid for by sponsors, is going to go directly to animals at the Humane Society of Utah,” Usry said. “All of our life saving programs, our transfer and rescue department, our foster car department, feeding, medicine for the animals, spay and neuter, because we spay and neuter 100 percent of our animals."
