SALT LAKE CITY -- Salt Lake City mayor Ralph Becker hosted a small wedding reception in his office during Utah's Pride Festival on Sunday.
Becker performed some of Utah's first same-sex weddings on December 19th, the same day a Federal judge struck down Utah's Third Amendment, which defines marriage as solely between a man and a woman.
"I married 35 people that afternoon and evening" Becker said.
Some of the couples were personal friends, while others were strangers. The mayor's staff recently tracked down as many of the 35 couples as they could find. Becker said he was pleased to become more acquainted with them Sunday.
FOX 13 News' Todd Tanner spoke with some of those at the reception, see the video above for his report.
