Man accused of stabbing wife now in custody, Layton Police say

TOOELE COUNTY, Utah — A man accused of stabbing his wife in Layton was taken into custody Tuesday morning in Tooele County, Layton Police confirmed.

Police had been searching for Joseph Castillo since Sunday night after he reportedly stabbed Kaye Lynn Spackman to death.

According to a press release from Layton City Police, Castillo’s information and vehicle he was possibly driving was broadcast to other law enforcement agencies.

Police stated a similar vehicle and individual matching Castillo’s description was later sighted in Lake Point.

Officers made contact with Castillo at a Del Taco restaurant where he was taken into custody and transported back to Layton. Castillo is currently in police custody pending being booked into Davis County Jail.
