‘Puppy Truck’ brings future guide dogs to foster homes in Salt Lake City

Posted

SALT LAKE CITY – A group of puppies who will be trained as guide dogs for the blind were brought to Salt Lake City Friday, where they will be raised by foster families ahead of their formal training.

The Guide Dogs for the Blind Puppy Truck arrived in town, and volunteers were there to meet the vehicle and its adorable cargo.

The puppies stay at the foster homes for about a year, and those who foster the animals are supposed to teach them basic obedience and good manners. After that year, the dogs will undergo about six months of formal training to become guide dogs.

FOX 13 News’ Dave Nemeth was there as those who planned to foster the pups picked up their new companions, see the video above for their comments as well as footage of the adorable animals.
