TOOELE COUNTY, Utah – Fire crews are responding to a blaze on more than 400 acres about 12 miles southwest of Vernon Sunday, and Lone Peak Hotshots were called in to fight the fire.
According to information from the Eastern Great Basin Coordination Center’s website, the Black Crook Creek fire is burning about 438 acres.
Loyal Clark of the U.S. Forest Service told FOX 13 News that they believe the fire was sparked by lightning during a storm that passed through the area earlier this week. Clark said the fire is in a remote area. Clark said they did not have a time estimate regarding containment of the fire.
Lone Peak Hotshots tweeted Saturday they were working the blaze, and they provided a picture.
