HARRISBURG, Pa. — A woman reportedly believed a foul stench coming from a bedroom in her family home was caused by a dead mouse, but Friday she learned her son had been dead inside that room for several days.
FOX 43 in Pennsylvania reports that Kimberly Tutko’s 8-year-old son, Jarrod Tutko Jr., had been dead for several days and the woman’s husband is facing charges that include abuse of a corpse, endangering the welfare of children and concealing the death of a child.
Kimberly Tutko told FOX 43 her husband eventually broke the news to her.
“That’s when he had turned to me and he said, ‘No, Junior is dead, he had passed away,” she told FOX 43.
The woman said it took several days to discover the death because her son has disabilities and her husband is his primary caregiver. She reportedly said her husband concealed the death because he was “afraid.”
Kimberly Tutko told FOX 43: “He was you know like, not only worried for Junior but the other children that were in the home, like you know, are they going to be uprooted, are we gonna be arrested?”
