SALT LAKE CITY – Salt Lake City police have arrested the man who allegedly robbed a Wells Fargo Bank Monday morning.
Toney Merae Canaday was booked into the Salt Lake County Metro Jail on one misdemeanor charge and one felony charge for aggravated robbery.
Salt Lake police said Canaday walked into the Wells Fargo branch on 299 South and Main and demanded cash, saying he had a gun. A teller gave him the money, then he ran eastward on foot.
Police arrested Canaday 36 blocks south and three blocks east of the bank shortly before 1 p.m.
