UPDATE: The trial for a teen charged in connection with the shooting death of Utah County Sgt. Cory Wride will stay in Provo, Utah.

A judge denied an attorney’s request to move 17-year-old Meagan Grunwald’s trial from Utah County.

Her attorney said he doesn’t believe Grunwald will get a fair trial in Provo.

PROVO, Utah – A teen charged in connection with the shooting death of Utah County Sgt. Cory Wride was back in court Monday.

Meagan Grunwald, 17, pleaded not guilty in June to all charges against her, including aggravated murder and attempted murder.

Her attorney said Grunwald won’t be able to get a fair trial in Utah County.

Publicity from the shooting in January ran statewide so prosecutors and Grunwald’s attorney have been trying to move the trial to Salt Lake County.

They said they believe there would be more potential jurors to choose from in another county.
