SALT LAKE CITY – Salt Lake County Animal Services made a big push to find homes for animals Saturday as part of their Catapalooza event.
The 12—hour event featured activities for families, whether they are looking to adopt a pet or not, and animal officials said they hoped to adopt out enough animals to make room at shelters for animals that will arrive in the future.
Kip Peterson, a special programs supervisor for Salt Lake County Animal Services, spoke about their efforts.
“We generally get pretty full in the summertime, so this is our opportunity to find homes, do one big push to find homes for everybody in our care,” Peterson said.
Event organizers said their goal was 100 adoptions of dogs and cats, and Saturday was the last day the group was offering free adoptions of cats and kittens. Click here to visit SLCAS website.
