World record holder to study at Westminster College

Posted

SALT LAKE CITY – A world record holder is taking up residence at a Salt Lake City school this semester.

Jordan Romero set records for being the youngest person to climb Mount Everest (at the age of 13) and the youngest person to climb the tallest summit on each of the world’s seven continents (at the age of 15 and a half), and Westminster College hopes he will share his sense of adventure with other students.

“The very first mountain that we climbed was Mount Kilimanjaro when I was 10-years-old,” Romero said. “So that was in July 2006. And after that I said, ‘One down, six to go.’”

Now 18, Romero is the co-author of the recently published book: “No Summit out of Sight: The True Story of the Youngest Person to Climb the Seven Summits.”

Romero is set to begin his freshman year of college at Westminster in Salt Lake City. See the video above for Romero’s interview, and click here to visit his website.
