WEST JORDAN, Utah – What started as a search for a serial robber ended with a high-speed police chase in West Jordan overnight.
Officers said they were looking for a robbery suspect near Apollo Burger at 7700 S. and Redwood Rd. Tuesday night.
Lawmen pulled into a gas station nearby and saw a person matching the description of the curly-haired suspect.
Officers ran the car’s tag and found it was reported stolen.
Police tried to pull over the car after the driver, 26-year-old Christine A. Grijalva, left the gas station and the chase ensued north on Redwood Rd.
West Jordan Police Sgt. Joe Monson said, “The vehicle turned around, was headed southbound at that point, continued southbound until it got to 104th and Redwood Rd. where it collided with two civilian vehicles.
The three drivers and passenger had minor injuries as a result.
Police said Grijalva eventually crashed the stolen car and officers arrested her.
According to West Jordan Police, Grijalva, who also goes by Christina Silva, admitted to stealing the car in Salt Lake City.
Officials said Grijalva was not the serial robber they were originally searching for when the chase started.
However, officers said they discovered Grijalva was driving on a suspended license and had warrants out for her arrest.
Authorities have not said what charges Grijalva is facing.
