SALT LAKE COUNTY, Utah – Salt Lake County leaders say they are paving the way for cyclists to connect to other communities.

Ben McAdams, Salt Lake County Mayor, spoke Thursday about the county’s vision for bringing all 16 cities in the county into one integrated network of transportation. He said the move will make travel easier and boost safety for everyone on the road.

Currently, cities in Salt Lake County have their own paths, and the routes may not match up with routes from other cities. Officials and cyclists spoke with FOX 13 News’ Tamara Vaifanua Thursday about their hopes for an integrated network, see the video above for their comments.

Officials said the county will invest about $800,000 so cities can become part of the transportation network.
