OGDEN, Utah --Weber State University wants to preserve Ogden’s history, starting with your old photo books.
The history enthusiasts at the library are putting together a collection of pictures and stories about immigrants who settled in Utah.
“With the train you had every immigrant population you could think of, and every religious organization you could think of, and they ended up coming and staying,” said Sarah Langsdon, Curator of Special Collections at Weber State University. “It made not only downtown Ogden an interesting diverse community, it sort of expanded upwards as you get further into Ogden.”
Weber State’s library plans to compile the pictures for an exhibit next fall that will combine the photographs and oral histories.
The archivists ask anyone with historic photos of Ogden to bring them to the University’s library.
