CACHE COUNTY, Utah — An Idaho man is dead after a three-vehicle accident in a Cache County Tuesday morning according to police.
The accident occurred in Hyde Park at approximately 11:30 a.m.
According to North Park Police Department, Dav Frew, 82, of Preston, Idaho, was attempting to make a left turn onto Main Street at 4040 North when he was struck by Jared Astle, 28, of North Logan, traveling south on the roadway.
Police say when Frew pulled out onto Main Street Astle didn’t have time to avoid the collision. Frew was struck on the driver’s side of the vehicle.
A passerby attempted to perform CPR on Frew.
Police say the Idaho man was transported to Cache Valley Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
Astle was taken to Logan Regional Hospital with a complaint of neck pain.
A third motorist, Vicente Mejia traveling north on Main Street struck the debris from the collision.
Police did not release the condition of Mejia.
