TOOELE COUNTY, Utah – A newly renovated building was dedicated Thursday at the Tooele Army Depot, and the depot’s first civilian employee was honored at the ceremony.

Army Col. Roger L. McCreery, commander Tooele Apartment Depot, hosted a dedication ceremony for the $2.2 million facility, which is used to manufacture and assemble ammunition equipment.

According to a press release from event organizers, the facility dedication was in honor of Orville Mooberry, who passed away in December of 2013. Moobery was the depot’s first civilian employee and began work in Tooele in 1942 and worked there until he retired in 1975.

The facility is larger than 17,000 square feet, and the ceiling height was increased from 14 feet to 30 feet to accommodate larger cranes.
