SALT LAKE CITY – Primary Children’s Hospital has a brand new building for outpatient services, and the project was years in the making.
The new outpatient building has been in the works for 8 years and cost more than $100 million to build, and Katy Welkie, CEO of Primary Children’s Hospital, said they are glad to have it finished.
“We needed this really, really badly,” she said. “It is a new addition to Primary Children's Hospital, where we will be providing outpatient services for the state of Utah and the surrounding area.”
Welkie said the facility serves a serious purpose but was also built with children’s interests in mind.
“If you walk around this building, you'll see some fun elements for the kids, whether they're little hidden animals in walls, or patterns on wallpaper,” Welkie said.
FOX 13 News’ Todd Tanner took a look at the new facility, see the video above for his report.
