SALT LAKE CITY – Several dozen Utahns participated in a rally in Salt Lake City Sunday, and the event was one of several such demonstrations staged around the world to push for action on climate change.
Event organizers said the rally in Salt Lake City was one of more than 2,600 planned to take place around the world Sunday, and participants said they are calling on leaders who will be meeting at the United Nations to recognize that people want to see a different approach to tackling climate change.
A New York march had an estimated 100,000 people participating, with the New York Times reporting the march stretched as far as the eye could see.
