SALT LAKE CITY - The University of Utah opened its first art gallery one century ago.

Now it's celebrating with a new art exhibit created by students and professors.

At the "Sense of Place" exhibit, you'll see everything from sculptures to paintings to 3D art.

The pieces are not works by professional artists but rather members of the campus community in a discipline other than art.

The university says it wants to bring the spotlight to local talent that would otherwise be hidden.
