Jimmy John’s restaurants are warning customers about a data breach involving credit and debit cards.
The sandwich chain said six Utah locations are affected in the breach that includes more than 200 stores across the country.
Three locations in St. George, one in Provo, one in Lehi and a store in Logan were compromised.
Officials said a hacker stole long-in credentials from Jimmy John’s point-of-sale vendor and used it to remotely access the systems.
The breach happened between June 16 and Sept. 5.
Jimmy John’s said the breach happened at stores and did not include cards used in purchases entered manually or online.
The company said the security compromise is contained and customers are safe to use cards as payment again.
