PROVO, Utah - A 22-year-old man is in serious condition Wednesday after being struck by a hit and run driver in Provo Tuesday.
Jason Young witnessed the incident and spoke about the crash.
"Just watching him hit the hood, the windshield, and then bouncing off the roof of the car, just the incredible speed of the vehicle caused him to go very high in the air," he said.
Young was getting into his car around 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday when across the street he saw a skateboarder turning south out of a driveway into the road on 550 West. Then, seconds later, Young saw a car hit the skateboarder and then drive away.
"His body was like an unconscious rag doll," Young said.
Witnesses said the car looked like a sedan and is a dark color, possibly green. Police said it is likely the front end of the car as well as the windshield will be damaged.
Tyler Bullock, 22, is in serious but stable condition. Police said they're still not sure whether the driver was at fault, but, regardless, they said that the person should have stayed and helped.
"They would have been in a whole lot less trouble if they would have pulled over on the side of the road and rendered first aid," said Lt. Rich Ferguson of the Provo Police Department.
Officials are asking anyone with information to call them at (801) 852-6255.
