Photos: DWR relocates bear from Woodland Hills

Posted

WOODLAND HILLS, Utah — The Division of Wildlife Resources captured and relocated a bear Thursday that had been hanging around the town of Woodland Hills for about five weeks, and they provided a series of photos detailing the process.

According to information from the DWR, residents had seen the bear in the area regularly and the animal didn’t seem to show any signs it indented to leave.

Officials said typical traps weren’t effective, so they brought in a specialized trapper from the USDA Wildlife Services to chase, tree and tranquilize the bear.

The animal was taken by truck to a remote, mountainous area and released.
