OREM, Utah — A Spanish Fork man who police suspect was responsible for a robbery at a U.S. Bank branch earlier this month has been booked into the Utah County Jail.
Pleasant Grove police arrested 49-year-old Brian Traynor on an intoxication charge and Orem police said evidence was found linking him to the robbery.
Traynor faces several charges, including aggravated robbery, giving false personal identity and intoxication.
Orem police said Traynor was given the “sports cap bandit” moniker in 2007. According to a 2008 posting on ranchocordovapost.com, Traynor was given the nickname because he wore baseball caps during several bank robberies he allegedly committed in California from 2005-2007.
