LOS ANGELES — The Los Angeles Police Department is investigating a brawl that broke out on Hollywood Boulevard in which costumed combatants traded blows as a camera rolled.
FOX 13 News sister station KTLA 5 in Los Angeles reports the incident occurred outside the Hollywood and Highland entertainment complex, in front of the TLC Chinese Theatre Tuesday afternoon.
Footage filmed at the scene shows people dressed as Mr. Incredible and Batgirl in a fight, and then someone dressed as Chewbacca steps in and attempts to intervene. As the crowd grew and the fight continued, someone dressed as Freddy Krueger also tried to intervene, as did a Waldo from “Where’s Waldo?”
The video skips ahead to another point in the fight, where Mr. Incredible can be seen throwing Batgirl to the ground. A passerby appears to attempt to intervene, which is when the video ends.
KTLA reports the cause of the fight is unknown, and that the LAPD has confirmed the incident occurred Tuesday but did not provide further details to media.
Costumed characters are a familiar site on the famous street, and the participants make money in the form of tips by interacting with tourists, posing for photos and other such activities.
KTLA 5 interviewed some of these individuals, and a man dressed as Spiderman said he thinks the fight began because Mr. Incredible thought the woman was encroaching on his space. See the report below for his interview and the video above for the raw footage.
