KEARNS, Utah – Authorities are investigating a man’s death after he crashed his motorcycle into a tree.
Officers said the motorcyclist was driving northbound on Trowbridge Way in Kearns when he came across a curve in the road.
Police said the driver was going too fast and couldn’t make the turn.
That forced him to cross into oncoming traffic and then into a tree.
Authorities said the driver wasn’t wearing a helmet and died at the scene.
“It appears that the motorcyclist was just going too fast through the residential area, couldn’t negotiate the curve and ultimately collided with this tree,” Unified Police Lt. Justin Hoyal said. “We always advise that people wear a helmet when riding a motorcycle, it’s one of those things that’s going to save lives.”
Authorities later identified the man as 50-year-old Louis Quigley of Kearns.
