COTTONWOOD HEIGHTS, Utah — Cottonwood Heights’ oldest evangelical church celebrated a big milestone Sunday, and the congregation gathered for food, speeches and music in honor of their 50th anniversary.
Mike Gray has been the pastor of Canyons Church for about 30 years, and he spoke about the celebration.
“We just celebrate,” he said. “God has put together a very faithful group of people, and it’s been a great group for 50 years, and I’ve had the privilege of being their pastor for 30 of that. So what a blessing they are and what a testimony to this community this church has been.”
Gray said the church has about 800 members and between 350 and 400 people attend each Sunday.
