SALT LAKE CITY - Police are searching for those responsible for firing into a crowd of people near a homeless shelter downtown.

Just before 7 p.m. Tuesday, police said two men got out of a car and fired into a crowd of about 200 people on Rio Grande St. near the shelters at 225 S. and 500 W.

A shot hit one man in the shoulder; he is expected to fully recover.

Authorities said the man was not able to give them a description of the suspects.

Officials are working to get surveillance video from nearby businesses.

Police ask anyone with information to call (801) 799-3000.
