With Republicans gaining control of the United States Senate, Senator Orrin Hatch, R-Utah, is expected to become the President pro tempore of the Senate in January of 2015, as the position has historically gone to the most-senior senator in the majority party.
The position means Hatch would become third in line for the succession of the presidency, behind the Vice President and Speaker of the House. On Friday, Hatch came to the FOX 13 News Studio to discuss the position as well as the current balance of power in Washington, which has shifted in favor of the GOP as a result of the recent midterm elections. See the video above for his interview.
