SOUTH JORDAN, Utah -- A new road in South Jordan opened to commuters Monday afternoon.
Supporters of the roadway say 4800 West will ease the growing traffic on the surrounding streets.
The new road now connects Old Bingham Highway to the Daybreak development. It also links the mid-Jordan light rail station at 4800 West and Old Bingham Highway.
The project cost almost 6.5 million and took six months to complete.
Residents were told the new road will cut down their commute times heading north and south from Skye Drive.
