STOCKTON, Calif. – A teacher has been placed on leave and faces a charge of corporal injury to a child after video of him dragging a 13-year-old female student into a pool despite her pleading with him to stop surfaced.
FOX 13 News sister station FOX 40 in Stockton, California spoke to the student involved and obtained cell phone footage of the incident, see the video above for that report.
FOX 40 reports that the 13-year-old student did not submerse her hair while swimming laps because she had a cheerleading competition later.
“I swam laps like the teacher asked but I did not want my hair wet,” the student told FOX 40. “My hair looked good that day.”
In the video the girl can be heard saying that her shirt is coming down, but the teacher responds on camera with “It’s alright.”
“I told him, ‘My top is coming down,’ and he didn’t stop,” she told FOX 40.
The teacher, Denny Peterson, also apparently asked other students to tickle the 13-year-old girl. The man has been placed on administrative leave, though initially he had been moved to a different school. The man is charged with corporal injury to a child.
“And I told him you can’t be touching me like this, don’t touch me,” the teen said.
