Posted

SALT LAKE CITY — Utah’s Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control is bracing for huge lines and record-breaking sales.

On Tuesday, the DABC said state liquor stores generated $1.7 million in sales. That’s up $200,000 from the year before. The day before Thanksgiving is one of the busiest for liquor sales in Utah. Last year, the DABC said it made $2.8 million in liquor sales in one day.

On the average day, state liquor stores sell about $700,000 in alcohol.
