SALT LAKE CITY – A skateboarder could be cited after crashing into a car in Salt Lake City on Friday n ight.
Police say the skateboarder was riding west on the overpass at North Temple at around midnight when he crashed into a sedan heading north on 600 West as the car was going through the intersection.
“They didn’t see him. They were almost through the intersection when he just slammed right into the car,” said Salt Lake City Police Lt. Eddie Cameron. “He wasn’t able to stop. Don’t know if he even tried.”
The passenger and driver had cuts from the glass, and the skateboarder, who wasn’t wearing a helmet, was taken to the hospital with a large gash in his side.
The skateboarder is accused of putting a dent in the side of the car and breaking the front passenger window. Investigators say the driver isn’t facing any charges.
