UTAH COUNTY — A judge suspended prison time and a fine for a man in American Fork who pleaded guilty to unlawful sexual activity with a minor, and the man is ordered to be on probation for three years.

Benjamin Mora, 29, was sentenced to a term of up to 5 years in prison and a fine of $5,000, but both were suspended as part of the man’s probation, according to court documents filed Friday.

Mora met the victim, then 15, through his work as a personal trainer. The sexual activity occurred in 2012.

He pleaded guilty to one count of unlawful sexual activity with a minor, which is a third-degree felony. The man initiallyfaced three counts of object rape, four counts of forcible sodomy and four counts of forcible sexual abuse in connection with the case, which FOX 13 News first reported on in January of 2013.

The man allegedly chatted and texted with the teen, who was 15 at the time. Investigators alleged Mora then assaulted the victim four times while in his vehicle in 2012.

The man’s probation requires several things. The man is restricted from having any contact with the victim and must complete programs or counseling as directed by the probation agency. He must abide by sex offender Group A conditions and maintain contact with the court and the relevant probation agencies, as well as various other requirements.
