CLARK, N.J. — New Jersey drivers might’ve noticed a nod to one of Chevy Chase’s most memorable roles Thursday as they traveled along the Garden State Parkway.

A road sign that usually says “Clark / Westfield” was changed to “Clark Griswold,” the name of the father in the National Lampoon’s series of “Vacation” movies.

According to a posting on NJ.com, Sgt. Gregory Williams of the New Jersey State Police confirmed that pictures circulating on social media Thursday showing the sign change were real – not the work of photo editing software.

Actor Chevy Chase played Clark Griswold in four feature-length films and one short film released online in 2010.
